Yet another reason not to vote conservative. If their MPs can't even fiddle their expenses what use are they?

now this is really strange one. the guy has been cleared, and in the flotsam and jetsam underneath the article is a link to a page where is agent was cleared.

yet but another member of his staff has been convicted of assisting the crime

    so the crime was committed

Now, speaking as someone who has filled in several of these damn forms, both in my own recognisance and as an agent for another person, I can attest to the fact that either your agent fills it in and takes responsibility for the information, or you fill it in and take that responsibility. There is no third way, it is a tick box on the form.

Either one of these acquitted scum is guilty and should face the sort of retrial blair arranged with the removal of the double jeopardy clause, allowing the state to keep trying those they want convicted until the jury gives the result they want (a bit like referendums) OR this member of staff has been heinously wronged.

And the taxpayer is in like manner entitled to be astute to prevent, so far as he honestly can, the depletion of his means by the Inland Revenue"
