Its the proactive approach of the Bank under Mark Carney (eg, engineering capital reserve requirements while easing credit facilities) that has kept the economy on more of an even keel than could of been despite the stresses of the Brexit vote. There will greater pressures when the initial boost to balance sheets by overseas earnings is used up as the increased costs bite in the coming years. The best outcome would be if Carney could be persuaded to serve the usual full eight years...
Its not that he opposed Brexit but its his job as you say to keep Britain on an even keel and that would be best served by being positive about it now that its going ahead .
Have you a link to support your claim that 90% of business support remain . The last one I looked at ,though maybe last year had it at maybe 60/40 remain . It would take a big change of mind for it to get to 90%. But of course business finance and industrial leaders have reason to remain that the man in the street doesn't .

What they found out though is that there are more of us than them , that's democracy

Not like Thatcher in other words. She achieved the highest inflation rate in the history of the Bank of England.

The transition out of the EU is going to be a difficult time, so we don't want some amateur working the controls.

Dont be daft - the highest inflation rate since WW2 was in 1975 under Harold Wilson when it reached over 24%

Yes you are right, my graph had a long scale and didn't show the double peak aspect of it. That was the oil crisis though. The difference though was that Thatcher's economic policy caused it to peak again, having dropped right down as the oil crisis blew over.
