    Venezuela - what's going on

If Maduro says that the attack came from Columbia or other foreign entities, you can take a fair bet he is lying.
He's a far left dictator who has reduced the economy to a fraction of what it was, which was the richest country in South America. The populace are finding it difficult to make ends meet, or to feed anyone.

Marie Antoinette said, "Let them eat cake" when her people were starving and it worked out badly for her!
Maduro is surely not surprised that there is opposition to his policies in Venezuela?
He's made himself a dictator worse than Chavez by stifling his opposition.

This is how communism works out, for those who still worship people like Marx and Lenin.

This is a country which the far left Labour Party under Corbyn and McDonnell hold up as a fine example of a socialist state, indeed an 'inspiration'. As recently as November 2017 Corbyn refused to condemn Maduro's corrupt, collapsed and incompetent regime. McDonnell's only criticism was that Maduro didn't nationalise the oil interests quickly enough; he 'took a wrong turn'. God, or whatever power you believe, in save us from the evils of socialism in any of its subversive forms; it has never worked and never will.
