    No way to treat women

I thought our justice system flawed, this would not be unusual in Afghanistan or some other backward country.
Appaling way to treat women who have suffered sex attacks with one judge apparently only looking at this as a crime of a phone being stolen.

Spain is one of the most corrupt countries in Western Europe. Everything happens according to the rule of the little brown envelopes and, reading between the lines, it sounds as if one of the defendants was rich and stuffed a little brown envelope for one of the judges.
If anyone videos the police on a phone in Spain, as the Police misbehave, or even use a webcam or dashcam for evidence, the judges nearly always rule it as inadmissible. They will rather charge the person using the phone using the gagging law
There is no justice in Spain.
Civil cases take years and years to resolve, waiting for the complainants to either give up or die.
The illegal housing crisis in Spain was egged along by the lawyers and Notaries, the bent town halls and funcionarios. And it still continues as they refuse to resolve it.

Believe me, I saw it all close up, for almost 20 years! Britain is a Vicar's tea party compared to that lot.

Apart from the sun it beats me why so many Brits want to live there then, the idea that being in the EU might make what you describe less likely reinforces my belief that the EU itself is corrupt too.
We seem to follow the rules to the letter, where is the ECHR in all this?

The Brits in Spain live in bubbles and enclaves.
The ECHR has been involved in the housing scandal, but when an MEP championed the cause, the EU baulked her by launching an investigation into her finances. She had a Dutch sounding name, annoying - I'll try to find it, it's a real eye-opener, you can't knock the system or they'll have you!

    It was Marta Andreasen

She blew the whistle on the EU

and was a champion for the Brits in Spain.

Here's another story on the changing attitudes to **** and even murder in Spain:

Although injustice is not exclusive to Spain, they do excel at it.

Love that bit when she was suspended by the EU "for failing to show sufficient loyalty and respect" so she thought colluding in hiding possible fraud wasn't a good idea..........and she was right.
