Parent charged with kidnap after trying to deal with bullying of his son.

Even the judge said 'I don't believe it'. It seems to me that more injustice is perpetrated on the population by pathetic decisions of the Crown Prosecution Service.

I support the parent's actions to achieve an immediate correction to the gang problem which was evolving; how did the law get involved?

A judge has expressed his disbelief and anger at the case of a concerned dad who was charged with kidnap after trying to make a bully apologise to his sons.
Judge Peter Bowers questioned why Kevin Moore, 44, was charged with the serious offence, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, after such a minor incident.
Teesside Crown Court heard that Mr Moore snapped after a group of teenagers began name-calling and throwing berries as his young two sons and a group of other children were attending a dance class inside a church hall.

Hear hear! But quite frankly I don't think that even the reduced charge of common assault should have been brought, let alone any compensation ordered.

I totally concur Midas. That was why I queried the inept role of the CPS in all this.

There is no such thing as adult authority in this country anymore, thanks to 30 years of wishy washy liberal attitudes towards "childrens rights".
A disgraceful story. The child in question should have been escorted home by the police and a severe caution given, both to child and parents.

While I can see why he was arrested initially, the fact that this got anywhere near the courts is absurd.

    Points well made.

So where do we go from here? Is changing the law likely or necessary? Or can society achieve change by responding to the issue as posters on this thread are doing?

For me the decision to prosecute was better made by the police themselves as in the distant past; they have all the information at their finger tips and should charge if they feel the evidence supports that action. The Crown Prosection Service has to consider all the evidence (a duplication) and is merely another layer of bureacracy which we should dispense with.

Hey manrow that is revolutionary, so lets try it!

More seriously it could not be worse than continuing with the situation we have now.
