Cameron wont make me a Minister... Im a white, married, Home Counties Christian

A new Tory MP has made a scathing attack on David Cameron for promoting women and people from the ethnic minorities over ‘white, Christian, married’ men.

John Glen, the party’s former head of research, said his background effectively ruled him out for a ministerial job under Mr Cameron.

He said: ‘I don’t anticipate any early calls to Government. I’m a white, Christian, married bloke from the Home Counties so I probably don’t fit the description of what the leadership wants at the moment.’

The Salisbury MP, one of 147 new Tory MPs elected in May, should on paper be a potential high-flier in the Commons after running the respected Conservative Research Department following the 2005 General Election........

So the political class is finally waking up to what has been happening to the rest of the country for years. Christians are displayed as fruitcakes . Marraige has been attacked on all corners by years of feminism, equality and squalid political manouvering by the likes of the labour party, And being a white male has made you persona non grata with rafts of women shortlists , positive discrimination and quotas.

What a load of rubbish. Reading between the lines of his comments, it would appear to me that for whatever reason, Cameron doesn't like him. If he's been quoted correctly by the MALICE online, he's never likely to get a cabinet job.

That's not very difficult really, they kind of make it easy for us.

I would have thought his blatant lack of loyalty and public criticism of the leadership rather confirms Cameron's judgment was sound!!

He himself acknowledges that, having only just been elected, it would be an "early" call to cabinet. How many people are put into the cabinet as soon as they are elected? It's ridiculous. Plus, we're probably months if not years away from a reshuffle, so who exactly would he kick out, to bring in this new guy? It'd piss off the rest of his party so much, especially when there's talent on the back benches i.e. David Davis and other former ministers who've been in politics a LOT longer than him.

Let's also look at the rest of the Cabinet: The most important people are: Clegg, Hague, May and Osbourne. Okay, May is a woman, but even so, white and wealthy. It's hardly diverse, is it? As far as I'm aware, the only non-white in the Cabinet is Baroness Warsii (or however it's spelt) and I'm not sure if she's a practising Muslim.

Hahaha what a joke. We have the whitest most male-dominated cabinet since before 1997. He's more likely to get passed over for promotion for being a whiney little bitch.
So unproductive has conservatism been in producing a general conception of how a social order is maintained that its modern votaries, in trying to construct a theoretical foundation, invariably find themselves appealing almost exclusively to authors who regarded themselves as liberal. - F.A. Whilst you're probably right that he is a whiny little bitch, what's also very true is that positive discrimination rarely works long term. Look what happened to all those new female, ethnic and minority MPs that got appointed under Labour; the majority of them fell by the wayside and slipped into obscurity very quickly.

If you're going to pick people from the minorities for any position, and I have absolutely no problem with that per se, you need to make doubly sure that they're both capable and up for the job; simply selecting likely candidates because they looked good or because the kissed the right backsides as it appears a lot of Blair's 'new faces' did, will never work.

The main reason that so many of Labour's MPs were so unremarkable has less to do with their gender or ethnicity, but the fact that they were often imposed upon local parties against their wishes, negating party democracy, and were generally chosen for their willingness to be Blairite lobby fodder. It was designed to engineer a largely docile party that would do Blair's bidding no matter how many Labour values he abandoned, achieved under the guise of "positive discrimination". Of course, it was a piece of control freakery almost guaranteed to deliver the mediocre.

Indeed, the handful of impressive Labour MP's left after Blairs pre 97 hatchet job of the party resigned the cabinet and faded into obscurity.
