Thumbs down Migrants took 9 out of 10 jobs created under Labour

Nearly nine out of ten jobs created under Labour went to foreign-born workers, astonishing figures revealed last night.

Official statistics showed the vast majority of the rise in the employment total under the last Government was accounted for by workers born abroad.

Total numbers of those in work went up by two million during 13 years of Labour. But of those jobs, 1.8 million individuals were classed as ‘non-UK born’.

Just a quarter of a million declared themselves to be born in the UK....

Labour all over, no wonder us Brits are getting fed up. No jobs for the brits, no or little housing for the brits. Dam disgusting and totally wrong. Ethnic cleansing of the British in our own historic towns and cities......2nd rate citizens through and through

As Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the Migrationwatch think-tank, said: "This is stunning evidence of the need to cut back on the immigration of foreign workers. As long as foreign skills can be obtained “off the shelf”, employers will have no incentive to train British workers."

hmm although I agree businesses need to train up British workers, there are circumstances where foreign workers are and will always be needed and thus we shouldn't restrict the needs of business/organisations/universities etc to get the best.

In principle yes, I agree, however this should be limited to those immigrants who fill positions which can't either quickly or easily be filled by British workers or who come here for specific posts for a limited period of time. What we don't need are more and more unskilled and semi-skilled immigrants and their families pouring in in the hope of getting a job once they're here.

The reality is that we have to stop Britain being an attractive destination for economic migrants.

We need to introduce conditions of residency such as a requirement for fluent English, sufficient resources to support themselves and their families for a minimum of five years or a confirmed job a British person is not available/qualified to do, and no access to welfare benefits until taxes and NI have been paid for at least five years. Only then will these economic migrants seek alternative destinations or stay in their own countries.

True enough, however, in regards to skilled and very skilled foreigners my view is simply this "they should be in Britain".

It is important to have a reasonable amount of immigration and tourism from developing countries. These are a few reasons.
-It helps to spread our ideology of how to live and how to do things in the modern world, what Britain exports has little effect compared to the ideas and technologies that Britain exports and has exported. Britain is a brand, people come here and buy our products to but into the brand. We need to develop the brand, bringing millions of immigrants in with their alternative culture only undermines the brand. Likewise we cannot apper xenophopic or risk debranding that way.

-It helps build trade and business, have you any idea how many business deals have come about from foreign nationals living in the UK. We need to be aware of the numbers. The Asian community in the UK now represents a large consumer base and much of the money from Asian businesses is active and not "leaking" to asia, simply because it is profitable for them.

-Future good relations, we have good relations with india because of our large indian community. This enhances are trade viability with them.

I think the key word in that is "reasonable". Very few would doubt that many immigrants, especially those who came here up to some 30 or so years ago with the firm desire to integrate and work hard at whatever they were doing, cause a problem. To me at least it seems that it's been the increasing influx of immigrants over that last 20/30 years and the last 10 or so in particular, many of whom have simply settled in ethnic ghettos, brought whole tribes of relatives and kids, done very little to integrate and simply taken low paid jobs from British workers or claimed benefits, are the ones we don't need.

Re: Migrants took 9 out of 10 jobs created under Labour

Absolutly once we eventually gain middle/working class control we will make sure that these kind of people do not come over. The middle and working classes have paid the price of labour's cheap labour policy, they have paid the price of labour's capitalism expansion and oil grabbing in the middle east spurred ofcourse by our ruling elites. We will now be paying for their greed as well. The money will not come from the elites because they can threaten to move their funny money abroad so the middle class will be absolutly decimated, that has yet to really sink in and when it does greece style protests will replace the kind of anarchist garbage we saw on wednesday.

Wikipedia defines middle class people as "owning a sizable family home, having a reasonable education and holding a proffessional or managerial role."

Here is an array of ways the middle class will suffer.
