The need for a true middle class party

Why did UKIP get nowhere in the national elections?
Simple flat rate income tax. This is the mantra of upper class business men not that of the lower middle class and reflects the views of the big business backers of UKIP.
We already have one upper class big business party its called the LIBlabCON party. It expresses liberal views on international capitalism and the free movement of cheap labour. Unless UKIP starts coming out with economic views which will benefit the ordinary British citizen it is wasting its time.

Remember apart from the use of standard English in speech lower middle class economic aims do not equate to those of the upper classes.

Hi Right Herbert, and welcome to the Politics Forum!

To start with you might like to read the extended "Welcome" message in the Rules and Guidelines section of the forum, which also includes a full version of the Forum Rules.

Knowing what’s appropriate to say and post and what isn’t can save everyone a great deal of hassle, and as such you might also find the Guide to Good Posting useful. If you’re unfamiliar with the type of forum software we use here, a brief guide to using it can be found here. Please respect other people’s views here; they mightn’t be the same as yours, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re wrong, just that they're different.

If you need help with anything at all to do with the forum, feel free to contact me, or one of the other moderators, via a personal message; our details can be found here, listed as "Minister" and “Junior Minister”.

Perhaps you’d care to formally introduce yourself, which you can do here, or optionally tell us a little bit more about yourself here.

    Enjoy the debates

But a point regarding your comments on flat rate tax - why do you think this a reason UKIP failed to get anywhere in the elections, is that view supported anywhere else or is it just your personal opinion, and what exactly do you think the problem with a flat rate tax is?

Because they are a rather shoddy one man band led by a spiv without vision or integrity - a self serving sack of ferrets endlessly stealing from eachother and squabbling!

3.01% of the electorate have any time for them and out of 19,000 seats they have achieved less than 30.

Sorry I think you are completely wrong - even their so called leader the idiot Malcolm Pearson had not read their manifesto which was so irrelevant that almost no one read it or the glaring loopholes and clearly uncosted fantasies woul have become apparent.

What upper class business men? are you thinking of the ex betting shop proprietor Alan Bown or the professional gambler Stuart Wheeler? Perhaps you are thinking of Sykes the scrap merchant.

    Perhaps you could clarify.

The EU communist/socialist policies espoused by self serving self appointed political elites across EUrope.

These people are easily bought and without patriotic loyalties and values stuff their pockets on the Gravy Train.

UKIP's economic views are a complete irrelevance - they are not within a country mile of election to anything but the Gravy Train. Due to their lack of vision failure of EVER training in 17 years - even Malcolm Pearson knew NOTHING of their vision as they only have the vision of the crooks that form their leadership and their tax payer funded parasites.

You do seem to have a terrible hang up about class - where do you put the £Millionaires who have made fortunes robbing the public in Labour?

I thought that's exactly what we'd had for the last 30 years, especially the last 13 years.
