Lefties newspaper the Guardian brings us news on BBC strike

BBC strike action planned for next week during the Conservative party conference has been called off after broadcasting unions received a "significantly improved" offer from management today.

Strike called off after broadcasting unions receive 'significantly improved' pensions offer from management.

BBC strike threat to Tory conference lifted.

Well they would offer improved terms which we licence payers would provide just to secure their own salaries and pensions as managers at the beeb?

I can't say much for the quality of their presentation of programmes such as the BBC News or the Weather these days either. What do they expect, credit for the slack in their performance and the inability to keep their heads still when they are speaking? If the BBC presenters and company employees want better wages then they should be tweaked as individuals by the relevant trainers and stylists to improve their performance and get their act together. What do they think it is, Playschool they are presenting? No improvement and harder work, no money or better income. Why should they be any different from any other workforce. They're not the Royal Family, are they?

What can they do, sack the ****ers? They need to keep them around to make sure they get things running on schedule. You'd think they'd be content with their pay for the quality of the dross they present us with, especially the newswhores who think they're the stars of the show. It's a catch-22 situ. Co-dependency makes the controlling authorities bow to the threat of an impending strike, and what better time for those greedy runts to choose than when they need televised coverage of the Tories holding a conference, the devious little bustards!

Personally i'm beginning to think that the BBC has had it's day, it brings us london centric views, with a an attempted veneer of political impartiality, when it is blatantly left wing, and we have no choice but to pay for this whether we want it or not. It provides services to overseas better than it does to some parts of the the UK but still i have to pay for a piss poor partisan service.
Just because i'm paranoid, doesn't mean their not after me!!!

The BBC desperately needs reform, but it seems bringing in highly paid staff from elsewhere is not achieving results. Anyone any ideas on a figure head who could do a Dr Beeching job on the BBC?

I would have thought right-wing, the absolute snots! After all, they want to capitalise on the income you say they receive from licensees, don't they, with a continual desire for more. How many times have TV licenses gone up in price in the last 5 years? 2ce, wasn't it? But do we get the quality of respect from them that equates that? Sertainly snot!

That is why they show more imported foreign world cinema, no doubt. It's cheaper for them to lease it, no doubt, and it also saves face for them. It is either better than the ****e we get from themselves, and therefore saves their programmes guide reputationally, or it is worse than their ****e which is just typical of the BBC and companies like them who've run out of inspiration. It is no longer a service, it is a business.

There's an awful lot more in the organisation than that, specifically the political reporters?

They're only left-wingers because they want more money and believe they'll get better pay under a Labour government. I wouldn't say they are true Labourites, they are greedy capitalists in disguise who'd soon swing their votes the other way if if was convenient. They have an inside deal with an upper-level Labour supporter, that's all, but like the civil service they keep their true political beliefs close to their chests until it's convenient to play them. It's all to do with their jobs and who employs them. In that case, would they boycott a Labour conference in the same way to get a rise?
