Greenland is swimming in USA direction

Dear old naїve Greenland inhabitants are so aspiring after independence from Dania making more and more laws for increasing rights of Greenland autonomy. As if their neighbors would allow them exist as independent state. Who did infected their naїve minds with such silly thoughts, I wonder. Heard that these were merry guys from the White House who whispered this in Greenlanders’ ears. In fact it is quite suspicious even it is just a gossip. It is well known that Americans are dreaming about more ‘extensive studies’ of Arctic region and its resources. So it is quite possible that they’ve decided that Thule Air Force base is a good bridgehead for further expansion into Greenland.
May be I’m wrong and that’s flimflam. But regretfully USA has got notorious reputation in such questions. Really they’ve got lots of methods of exerting influence and establishing regimes of their protegees in states they’re interested in.

You're all intelligent enough people on this forum, so please do try to make Analyst feel part and parcel. Don't let his idiomatic pigeon English put you off replying. At least it's not as bad as Fubar's or Angelcountry's.

I have to admit this post escaped me yesterday, but you're quite right that the idiomatic English of non-English speakers shouldn't be an excuse for not replying - but there's no need to point out names of people you feel aren't up to your standard; it's not so much the words themselves in many cases but the sense and sentiment behind them which is important.

But let me rectify yesterday's omission by saying:

Hi Analyst, and welcome to the Politics Forum!

To start with you might like to read the extended "Welcome" message in the Rules and Guidelines section of the forum, which also includes a full version of the Forum Rules.

Knowing what’s appropriate to say and post and what isn’t can save everyone a great deal of hassle, and as such you might also find the Guide to Good Posting useful. If you’re unfamiliar with the type of forum software we use here, a brief guide to using it can be found here. Please respect other people’s views here; they mightn’t be the same as yours, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re wrong, just that they're different.

If you need help with anything at all to do with the forum, feel free to contact me, or one of the other moderators, via a personal message; our details can be found here, listed as "Minister" and “Junior Minister”.

Perhaps you’d care to formally introduce yourself, which you can do here, or optionally tell us a little bit more about yourself here.

    Enjoy the debates

Re: Greenland is swimming in USA direction

What!? First the Mexicans and now the Greenlanders? How much will it cost to fence the Greenlanders out? Is no one satisfied staying home? Who next, Fiji Islanders? Must we fence off the entire West Coast against them? This s**te gets weirder and weirder.

Actually you're probably right. We don't have enough on our plates with Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention rumors of war with Iran and that silly little bugger in N. Korea. Never pass up the chance to instigate problems with another country, even if they are an ally - that's our motto. That's us, always sticking our noses in another's business. Too bad we never do a damn bit of good in this world

Our last real opportunity to some good was in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake, but no, we have to turn it into trying to take over that country so we can steal all their so abundant natural resources. We should have just bought the place outright and kept all that food and **** at home where it belongs, just ship body bags.

Personally, I think we should go after Iceland; they have better looking women.

Ps: Someone should tell the Greenlanders that swimming the Rio Grande is a lot easier than swimming the North Atlantic.

Let me see if I'm understanding your post correctly. You're saying that America wants to "take over" your AF Base because they want to do more Arctic studying? And you're also saying that because Greenland has no problem with that, then they are "swimming" in the direction of the U.S.? As in becoming more and more like us? If I read your post correctly, then may God have mercy on Greenland, because our gutless wonders that some choose to label as "leaders", will not.

By the way, no need to thank me for kickstarting your post, translation is my hobby :]
